The iCalendar (iCal) format allows you to sync your booking calendars across different platforms. This guide explains how to set up a two-way sync between NoBeds and Airbnb.

iCal vs. Direct API Connection

Before you begin, it’s crucial to understand common pitfalls of iCal synchronization compared to the professional Direct API connection available in NoBeds.

iCal Connection (Standard)

  • Syncs ONLY availability (dates).
  • No price synchronization – prices must be manually updated on each platform.
  • Update frequency: Usually every 1-5 minutes.

Direct API (Recommended)

  • Instant synchronization of bookings and availability.
  • Manage prices, restrictions (min stay), and content directly from NoBeds.
  • Handles multiple Airbnb accounts simultaneously.

Part 1

Step 1: Export Availability from NoBeds to Airbnb

This step ensures that when you receive a booking in NoBeds (from any source), those dates will be automatically blocked on your Airbnb calendar.

Log in to NoBeds, navigate to the **'Channels'** menu, and select **'Export (iCAL)'** or find the export section in channel settings.

Locate the specific listing you want to sync. Copy the **'iCAL export availability url'** (the link ending in .ics).

Open your Airbnb Hosting dashboard, go to the **'Calendar'** tab, then select the listing and open **'Availability settings'**.

Scroll down to 'Connect calendars' section and click **'Connect to another website'**.

Paste the NoBeds URL into the 'Other website link' field, give it a name (e.g., 'NoBeds Sync'), and click 'Add calendar'.

Part 2

Step 2: Import Airbnb Bookings to NoBeds

To complete the two-way sync, you must import the Airbnb calendar link back into NoBeds so that Airbnb bookings are reflected in your central management system.

In your Airbnb listing's 'Availability settings', find the **'Export calendar'** link and copy the provided URL.

Return to NoBeds, go to **'Channels'** -> **'Import (iCAL)'**.

Click 'Add New', paste the Airbnb link, select the corresponding room in NoBeds, and save.

How often does iCal update?

The update frequency is very fast, typically happening every 1 to 5 minutes. For true instant updates, we recommend the Direct API connection.

Will my prices sync?

No. iCal does not support price data. You must manage Airbnb pricing directly on their website.
