How to Set Same-Day Cutoff & Min Advance Hours

Stop unexpected late-night arrivals by setting minimum advance reservation notice hours across all your connected channels and direct booking engine.

Step 1: Open Channel Calendar & Restriction Options

Same-day cutoff times are configured directly inside the Channel Calendar restriction layers:

In the NOBEDS app, navigate to Channel Calendar (/ChannelCalendar).

Click on the room and date cell you want to edit, or use the top "Bulk update" button to apply changes across a date range.

In the popup dialog, select the "Min Advanced" (Minimum Advance Reservation) restriction field.

Step 2: Enter Advance Notice in Hours

NOBEDS calculates cutoffs based on hours before standard check-in time:

Min Advanced = 6: Set Min Advanced = 6: Guests must book at least 6 hours prior to check-in (e.g., stops bookings after 14:00 for a 20:00 check-in).
Min Advanced = 24: Set Min Advanced = 24: Prevents same-day bookings entirely, requiring guests to book at least 1 day in advance.
Min Advanced = 48: Set Min Advanced = 48: Requires reservations at least 2 days prior to arrival.

Step 3: Synchronize with Channels

Instant channel synchronization:

Click Save to push the Min Advanced restriction to Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, Agoda, and your Direct Booking Engine.

OTAs will automatically hide same-day availability once your cutoff threshold is reached, protecting you from late-night arrivals.

Important Cutoff Rules

  • Min Advanced is entered in whole hours (e.g. 4, 6, 12, 24, 48).
  • Ensure your property check-in window (e.g. 15:00 - 22:00) is set correctly in Settings > Listings so OTAs calculate the hour cutoff accurately.

Helpful Tips

  • Use the Bulk Update tool in Channel Calendar to apply your same-day cutoff rules for the entire upcoming year in one single click.
  • If you offer self check-in with smart door locks, you can lower Min Advanced to 1-2 hours to capture last-minute high-rate walk-in guests.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I stop same-day bookings after 18:00 (6 PM)?

Yes. If your latest check-in is 22:00, set Min Advanced = 4 hours. Once 18:00 arrives, OTAs will immediately close same-day availability.

Does Min Advanced apply to Booking.com and Airbnb?

Yes, NOBEDS syncs the Min Advanced restriction directly to Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, Agoda, and your Direct Booking Engine.

How do I remove the same-day cutoff restriction?

Open the Channel Calendar, select Min Advanced, set the value to 0 or leave it empty, and save.
